Summary:
Seagen is seeking a highly motivated Program Manager to join the Strategy, Operations, and Program Management (SOPM) team within the Research organization, which is created to help develop and drive implementation of strategy, operational execution, and liaises with key groups within and outside of Research.
Within this SOPM structure, this position will work closely with the Research Leads (Scientists) and functional leaders to plan and advance concepts/assets from discovery Research stage through IND submission. There will be a close connection with key Research business partners such as CMC, Translational Sciences, Legal and Portfolio Program Management so that Research activities are in line with an overall strategic fit incorporating overall company goals and perspectives.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Leverage strong project management and facilitation skills to optimize team meetings and drive effective governance and decision making
- Responsible for building relationships and navigating the organization to integrate various functions as a cohesive effort to drive projects and enhance team dynamics
- Manage project timelines ensuring timelines are aligned with functional activities across the organization (individual project plan, operational portfolio)
- Monitor and report on project execution and progress against milestones and deliverables
- Organize and facilitate regular or ad-hoc meetings with project teams, key stakeholders/SMEs preparing and distributing agendas, minutes, and other materials as needed
- Lead cross-functional collaboration that will deliver projects on time with agreed standards
- Drive planning for stage-gate decision points; guide teams through creation with functional input, governance approval, and execution of project plans
- Proactively identify potential risks and help manage and solve the challenges/issues through close collaboration with different parts of the organization
- Identify, develop, and implement new processes to facilitate continued evolution of the operations and improve efficiency of the Research organization
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or other relevant discipline. Advanced degree is desirable
- Minimum of five years’ experience of multi-disciplinary experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry
- Minimum of two years in a direct project/program management role
Skills/Knowledge Required:
- Demonstrated understanding of project management concepts, project management
- Highly collaborative with outstanding communication and relationship management skills
- Strong initiative with the ability to manage projects of varying complexity
- Adaptive leadership style with ability to influence teams without formal authority
- Ability to build and develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders and employees at all levels
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex information to a broad audience
- The ability to push back on competing priorities and good conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated ability to think critically and solve complex problems
- Experience using Project Management software to manage complex program timelines and resources (MS Project, Smartsheet)
Preferred Skills:
- Financial acumen with capability to plan and oversee budgets for various projects, contracts, and/or programs
- Embraces working in a culture where receiving and providing feedback is valued
- PMP certification

The hiring pay range for this position is $107,000 to $138,600 per year based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role. Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire (with additional annual grants, and grants upon promotion when applicable), and an annual bonus.
