Advanced Medical Technology Association
(AdvaMed) - AdvaMed, fromerly know as the Health Industry Manufacturers
Association (HIMA) is a Washington, D.C.-based trade association and the largest medical
technology association in the world. HIMA represents more than 700 manufacturers of
medical devices, diagnostic products, and medical information systems.
American Electronics Association (AEA) --
The AEA is the nation's largest high technology trade association representing a broad
range of high technology segments. Its fundamental goal is to help create a healthy
business environment for the high technology industry and to strengthen the industry's
position in world markets.
American Society of Association Executives (ASAE)
-- For 75 years, ASAE has been -- and remains today -- the world's leading membership
organization for the association management profession. ASAE's World Wide Web site is your

American Society of Gene Therapy (ASGT) -- The ASGT,
based in Seattle, promotes and fosters the exchange and diffusion of information and ideas
relating to gene therapy.
Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) -- BIO is
the world's largest industry organization serving and representing biotechnology.
Biological Photographic Association News (BPA)
-- The BPA News is published eight times a year as a service to its membership by the
Biological Photographic Association, Inc.
Drug Information Association (DIA) -- The DIA is
a non-profit, multi-disciplinary, member-driven scientific association with a membership
from regulatory agencies, academia, contract service organizations, pharmaceutical,
biological and device industry, and from other health care organizations.
International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers
Association (IFPMA) -- The IFPMA represents, through its member associations, the
international worldwide research-based pharmaceutical industry and manufacturers of
prescribed medicines.
Medical Device Manufacturers Association (MDMA)
-- The MDMA is a national trade association based in Washington, D.C. that represents 130
independent manufacturers of medical devices, diagnostic products and health care
information systems. The MDMA seeks to improve the quality of patient care by encouraging
the development of new medical technology and fostering the availability of beneficial
innovative products.
NanoBusiness Alliance -- The NanoBusiness
Alliance is an industry association founded to advance the emerging business of
nanotechnology and Microsystems. The Alliance's mission is to create a collective voice for the
emerging small tech industry and develop a range of initiatives to support
and strengthen the nanotechnology business community.
Nuclear Medicine Research Council (NMRC) --
The NMRC is a nonprofit organization based in Richland, Washington, that is devoted to the
beneficial applications of radioisotopes for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of
disease.
Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (PhRMA) --
PhRMA is an industry association comprised of approximately 100 U.S. companies committed
to pharmaceutical research. The site has an excellent section on "Drugs in
Development", along with industry facts and figures, health guides, answers to
frequently asked questions and other pharmaceutical industry news.
Proteome Society --
The Proteome Society's mission is to provide worldwide opportunities for education,
networking, and information exchange between scientists from variety of disciplines
centering around proteomics research and to provide a public forum for panel discussions
and scientific posters, seminars and electronic debates.
Woman in Technology International (WITI) -- WITI is a
non-profit association dedicated to increasing the number of women in executive roles;
helping women become more financially independent and technology-literate; encouraging
young women to choose careers in science and technology.
