LifeScience Moment: Philanthropist Ellen Browning Scripps founded the Scripps Metabolic Clinic.
On Dec. 11, 1924, philanthropist Ellen Browning Scripps, inspired in part by the discovery of insulin, founded the Scripps Metabolic Clinic,
a specialized facility to diagnose, treat, and investigate diabetes and other disorders of metabolism.
